(Click on the Picture below for ordering information and a larger view.) Every year during the last week in April, St. Thomas erupts into a cacophony of colors, island music, Caribbean culinary delights and traditional carefree good-spirited Island festival partying. Highlighting the carnival festivities is the Parade of the Children, followed immediately by the Parade of the Adults for the crowning climax of the Calypso King and Queen of St. Thomas. The ceremony is followed by the Brassorama competitions. Performers are often back-lit when tramping down Main Street. Here's a Blazing Photos tip: use your flash to fill the faces of the subjects in the parades, and the two light sources will render spectacular and unique results. |
