Whether you take a breathtaking drive up the steep winding road or take one of the brand new gondolas to the pinnacle of Paradise Point, the rewards are spectacular. Located above the Havensight Mall, Paradise Point has a commanding view of the West Indian Company Dock. Until 1994, the docking area was still a sovereign possession of the Danish East Asiatic Company. This is one of the most impressive port facilities and is daily home to three or four of the world's most magnificent ocean liners. On a clear day this view not only encompasses Charlotte Amalie and Hassel Island, but Vieques, Culebra and even Puerto Rico are visible (60 miles away) in the distance. The best time to take this picture is in the morning. |
